Ivo stared at the crowded parchment. He had believed accuracy meant drawing every true thing.

“Who decided that?” Seli asked.

Together they worked through the night. Residents marked the places the city needed to know: homes, wells, streets, the route for a bridge. Private paths were covered with small green leaves.
